I’ve been a work from home marketer for more than a decade and have to say there are few things I’d rather being doing today. Of course being a paid sport fishing guide would be right up my alley but that’s not likely to be happening, so I’ll just keep enjoying working from home and go fishing any time I’d like.

My friends all thought I was crazy for quitting my day job to start a work from home business as one who makes money online. However, today they all wish they’d listened to me back then as they are still telling me today how much they hate their jobs.

I have friends who love to play guitar as much as I do but they all leave their party time for the weekends when they can sleep in if they feel the need. Me, well I am up for a guitar jam any day or night of the week as I don’t have that 9-5 thing going any more.

Find What You Love And Make Money With It

I’ll admit I didn’t get it right the first time I tried and it took me some time to admit I had taken a wrong path but I didn’t give up like a few of my friends have but they won’t admit they didn’t do anything I share with them. Instead they thought they could buy success and lost thousands.

Note that none of them tried doing a single thing the love to do. For me, I have sites in niches that include all my hobbies and most of my interests. Sadly two of my friends decided to go the porno route as they thought they would start making money over night. Well that didn’t happen and they just gave up.

Online marketing isn’t a get rich quick idea, although you can stand to make a great living, it just takes time getting the ball rolling and the money coming in steadily. Most newbie work at home marketers haven’t got the patience or desire to work hard to earn their income and quit after their first failure.

My advice is to take the time required to find the right niche for you. This way you will not be lost for content after the first few articles you write.

Take Time To Research For The Best Keywords

My first mistake was not doing any research, at all. I knew what I wanted and went for it, Even a little research would have shown me I didn’t stand a chance in the niche I chose. The competition was too fierce and it would take me years to compete with them.

So glad I was too stubborn to give up and quit.

Eventually I came to realize I needed to do some research and that was when I changed everything I was doing and started over. I kept the two domains I had purchased though and today I use them and make money with them, but I did a lot of learning before that happened, as they were make money online sites and I really had no idea how to make money online, as my bank account showed.

Invest Time And Money in Your Research

I found I would get so lost doing research in the niches I was interested in. I would start out fine but before long I was just lost. It was about that time Bob P. told me about Keyword Elite 2 and my research started to make sense.

I had been looking for things that would sell when I should have been looking for keywords I could actually rank for. That’s when things changed dramatically because I started getting traffic for the words I was using. That traffic was targeted traffic who wanted what I was promoted.

It was all making perfect sense now. Instead of finding quality products I needed to find quality keywords I could get the right kind of visitors using. That was the key I had completely missed.

My experience to this point had been going after all the top money makers which didn’t make me any money. I just couldn’t get the traffic, but I was getting enough non-targeted traffic that I honestly believed I was almost there but was just deceiving myself.

I had a work from home business that just didn’t work, although I worked my behind off trying to get it work with learning anything.

Rosalind isn’t just writing about what she did that was correct she’s not afraid to share the negative experiences and I like that as it helps me avoid those same pitfalls and obstacles to my own affiliate success.

I have to say that Rosalind has produced an extremely well written ebook, one I can even understand. Her Super Affiliate Handbook covers all the things one really must know to be a successful affiliate marketer, meaning you make money.

A lot of people I talk to about blogging for profit say they don’t have a product to sell. The good news is that you don’t require a product of your own to make money online today and I am one person who blogs for profit yet I don’t have products of my own.

I use affiliate products, which are products owned by others who are willing to let me sell their products for then for a percentage of the sale or a commission. This give so many of us the option to earn money with other people’s products.

Today you’ll find affiliate marketing has limitless potential as there are so many products and services one can choose from. Selling affiliate products all day long for the rest of your life and you’d still never come close to selling all the products available.

I make money in the home gardening niche with blogging for profit but we also save money as we buy less at the grocery store. Digital products are some of my favourite things to sell in every niche I work. Things like ebooks or books you can read from your computer or and iPad or even the Kindle digital reader. The Clickbank marketplace is where I get most of my digital products to promote or even for personal use.

You need to learn all you can about affiliate marketing and Clickbank is the place to look. She’s probably about the best source to learn about affiliate marketing and making money working from home.

Non Digital Affiliate Products

I am not always looking for digital products so I needed to find more affiliate networks that would supply me with all the physical products I would ever need.

A few of the affiliate networks I have joined for my garden niche as well as my other niches:

Commission Junction, LinkShare Affiliate and ShareASale Network

Even though I have tried a lot of affiliate networks they are not all a like so I have dropped a lot of them. Those I listed above are a few I have been making money with and use them in multiple niches like gardening and acoustic guitar.

So what ever your niche is you are likely to be able to find an affiliate program. If you can’t find an affiliate program for your niche I would step back and rethink the niche you’ve chosen.
